Consulting

If you’ve read the books and want help applying the ideas to real work, I offer small, clearly-scoped consulting engagements.

The goal is clarity: define the job, tighten the inputs, reduce risk, and make AI behavior more predictable.

No hype, no magic prompts, no results guarantees. Just boring clarity that holds up under deadlines.

What this is for

This is for teams who are trying to use AI inside real workflows and keep running into messy inputs, inconsistent outputs, security concerns, or approval chains that break “demo-ready” advice.

Workflow clarity

Define the job, the inputs, the output format, and the handoffs so AI use doesn’t collapse at step two.

Risk + guardrails

Identify where risk actually enters the system (data, permissions, approvals, reuse) and add practical constraints.

Consistency

Replace “clever prompts” with stable structures that produce usable outputs across people and time.

What I can help with

  • Turning a fuzzy task into a clear, testable workflow
  • Inputs: what you need, what you can ignore, what breaks quality
  • Output formats that survive handoffs
  • Failure modes: where it goes wrong and how to detect it
  • Practical policy notes: what should and shouldn’t go into AI tools

What this is not

This is intentionally narrow. If you want a large build, custom software, or an open-ended retainer, you’ll be happier elsewhere.

  • Not legal, medical, or financial advice
  • Not “we installed AI and everything was perfect” fantasy consulting
  • Not a promise of outcomes (context matters)
  • Not tool worship: the workflow matters more than the logo on the tool

If you’re unsure whether your request fits, send the problem. I’ll tell you if it’s a match.

Engagement Options

Pick the smallest thing that gets you unstuck. Most teams need clarity more than they need a big project. (Pricing varies by scope; you’ll get a quote after the intake.)

60-minute advisory call

Bring one workflow or use case. Leave with a clearer job definition, risks, and next steps.

Workflow Review

You share the current process, inputs, and examples. I return annotated notes and a tightened workflow outline.

Half-Day Workshop

For small teams. We map the workflow, identify failure modes, and draft guardrails that people will actually follow.

What you’ll get (typical deliverables)

A simple workflow outline, input requirements, output formats, a short list of failure modes to watch, and practical guardrails for tool use and approvals. No 40-page PDF nobody reads.

Request a Consult

Send a short note with what you’re trying to do, what’s breaking, and any constraints. If it fits, we’ll pick the smallest option that helps.

Intake (what to include)

  • What job are you trying to get done?
  • Who uses it and who approves it?
  • What inputs do you have (examples help)?
  • What does a “good output” look like?
  • Any security or compliance constraints?

Note: Please don’t send sensitive personal data. If we need to review examples, we’ll use sanitized samples.

FAQ

Do you do implementation?

Sometimes I’ll help you design the workflow and guardrails, then your team implements. If you need ongoing build work, I’ll tell you up front whether that’s in scope.

What do you need from us?

A real example of the work (sanitized if needed), your constraints, and a decision-maker who can approve changes.

How fast can we move?

Depends on scheduling and scope. The intake makes this obvious quickly.

Do you guarantee results?

No. Outcomes depend on your data, constraints, and follow-through. The deliverable is clarity and a stronger system.
