AI TRAINING FOR TEAMS & LEADERS
One session a month, built from your team’s real work.
Not a course you sit through once. Each session is prepared around the tools, tasks and decisions your organization is already dealing with.
Most AI training for teams covers what a tool can do. This covers what your people do, and where AI genuinely makes that faster, clearer or less tedious. It works for a single leader building their own skills or a whole department learning together.
- ~2 hours a month
- Month to month, no long-term contract
- Leaders or teams
- Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini
THE FORMAT
What makes this AI training for teams different
I’ve sat in enough generic AI workshops to know how little sticks when the material isn’t built around what people actually do. A tool demo is easy to watch and easy to forget. Practising on your own emails, reports and documents is what turns into habit.
Built around your work
Sessions use your organization’s real content and workflows: the reports your team writes, the inbox that never empties, the documents that get rewritten every month. People leave with something they can use the next morning, not just notes on a demo.
Builds month to month
Each session picks up where the last one left off, so skills compound instead of resetting. If priorities shift, say a new tool lands or a project takes over, the next session shifts with them. There’s no fixed script to fall behind on.
Prepared, not delivered
Before the first session, I spend time learning how your organization works. Every session after that is prepared specifically for you, so month one is never a first draft and month six is never a repeat.
WHAT A YEAR LOOKS LIKE
A 12-session framework, shaped by your organization
Every client starts from the same foundations, and the topics build on each other in a deliberate order. What changes is everything inside them: the examples, documents and workflows each session uses come from your work.
MONTHS 1–3
Foundations
The groundwork every later session builds on.
01
AI fundamentals & prompting
How to give context, iterate, and check what comes back.
02
Setting up AI to work for you
Custom instructions, connected files and a personal prompt library.
03
Using AI safely at work
Personal vs. business accounts, what not to paste in, and the privacy principles Canada’s regulators set for generative AI.
MONTHS 4–6
Daily tools
Where most of the working week actually goes.
04
Email & inbox
Drafting, summarizing long threads and triaging.
05
Documents & drafting
First drafts, tightening, and keeping a consistent voice.
06
Presentations
From outline to slides, and from a wall of text to something readable.
MONTHS 7–9
Analysis & collaboration
Making sense of information, faster.
07
Spreadsheets & data
Formula help, summaries, and explaining results in plain language.
08
Meetings & follow-up
Notes into decisions, action items and summaries.
09
Research & synthesis
Digesting reports and building a quick brief.
MONTHS 10–12
Communication
Getting the right message to the right audience.
10
Writing for different audiences
One message, adjusted for executives, clients or staff.
11
Planning & executive reporting
Project breakdowns, status updates and short summaries.
12
Client-facing content
Proposals and pitches, always with a human review.
YEAR TWO
From general skills to your specific workflows
By the second year, I know your organization well enough to go past general topics.
Department deep dives
Not generic spreadsheets, but your finance team’s actual reporting process.
Repeatable workflows
Moving from “help me draft this” to a process that runs the same way every time.
Internal champions
Equipping a few of your own people to carry the skills forward between sessions.
Annual policy refresh
Checking your AI guidelines against a year of real use.
THE ORDER AND FOCUS ADJUST TO YOUR ORGANIZATION. THIS IS A STARTING FRAMEWORK, NOT A FIXED SCRIPT.
GETTING STARTED
How training begins
There’s a short process before the first session. It’s what makes the training relevant instead of generic.
01
Free consult
A conversation about where your organization is with AI today, what you’d like to be different, and whether this is a good fit, for you and for me.
There’s nothing to prepare and no pitch deck.
NO COST
02
Paid onboarding
Four to five hours learning your current AI use, your goals, the tools you’re licensed for, and how your teams actually work.
That groundwork is what lets the first session feel built for you.
WRITTEN SCOPE
03
Monthly training
One prepared ~2-hour session each month, built from what onboarding turned up and adjusted as we go.
It continues month to month for as long as it’s useful.
ONGOING
THE TOOLS
Trained on the tool you actually use
Training isn’t built around one vendor. Whatever your organization is licensed for, sessions are taught in that tool, so people practise in the same place they’ll be working afterwards.
MICROSOFT
Copilot
Inside Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
OPENAI
ChatGPT
Including custom GPTs and team workspaces.
ANTHROPIC
Claude
Including Projects for longer, document-heavy work.
Gemini
Inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets and the rest of Workspace.
Using more than one, or haven’t decided? That’s a normal place to start. Many organizations have people on two or three tools at once. Training can cover the differences that matter, especially around setup and how each one handles your data, and I keep an eye on newer tools as they appear.
WHY IT’S CURATED
Month six looks different from month one, because by then I know your organization.
I keep the practice to a small roster of 10–15 organizations on purpose, rather than scaling a course to hundreds of people. That trade-off is what makes it possible to prepare each session around what your team is actually doing.
It also means the training keeps moving. By month six, I understand your tools, habits and sticking points, and the sessions reflect that.
When the roster is full, it’s full. The free consult is where we find out whether there’s room.
WHO IT’S FOR
Built for leaders and teams alike
Individual leaders
For a director, owner or manager who wants to get genuinely capable with AI themselves, before training a team or instead of it. Sessions focus on your actual role: the emails, reports and decisions that fill your week.
A GOOD FIT IF
- You have access to an AI tool but rarely use it
- You want to understand it before asking your team to
- Your time is the bottleneck, not your budget
Teams & departments
For teams and departments learning together. Sessions are shared, but built around your group’s tools and workflows, not a generic deck everyone half-remembers by the next meeting.
A GOOD FIT IF
- Licences were rolled out but adoption has stalled
- People are using AI unevenly, or quietly on their own
- You want consistent habits across the team
A few things people ask
No. The first quarter is built to work for a team at any starting point, including one that hasn’t used AI much yet. If some people are further along, sessions are prepared so they still get something new out of them.
Live. Sessions run in person or over video, whichever suits your team. If we meet online, I can record the session for anyone who missed it, as long as your organization is comfortable with what’s on screen being recorded.
There’s no hard limit. I find it works best with up to about 20 people, so the questions stay relevant to everyone. For larger groups, having an internal champion I work with directly helps carry things through the rest of the organization.
We can move the session to later in the month, or cover both topics the following month. I’d still try not to skip one, since each session builds on the last and a gap tends to slow momentum.
It starts with a one-time paid onboarding phase, then continues month to month for as long as it’s useful. There’s no multi-year contract.
It depends on your organization and where you’re starting from, so it’s part of the free consult rather than something I post here.
